Field Day 2017

On June 24th 2017 the Herriman Amateur Radio Club had their annual Field Day. It was a lot of fun. We had a joint operation with Fort Herriman days this year. Mccay Mortensen made over 100 contacts and even managed log W1AW. Way to go! We all a great time. Field Day isn't just about fun though. The more we practice our skills the better we can become at being skilled in an actual emergency. What would happen if we only depended on repeaters and rooftop antennas? If we ever have an earthquake, this could become a disaster. That's why public events like Field Day help us to become more prepared. We learned how to set up an outdoor antenna and to work as a team. But alongside those valuable skills we learned, there really is something to be said about the friendship and camaraderie we all enjoy. Next year will be even better!
Hobby Kit customers prior to 2016 will continue to receive technical support and warranty service. To help experimenters obtain some great deals in remaining hobby kit inventory, the company's remaining kits are available from Amazon, as long as supplies last.
